Sports and games have great value in our life. They help us to achieve a sound view of life both physically and mentally. They create international brotherhood and reduce enmity among nations. By being skilled and superior in these games we can bring glory and honour to the nation as well as the country.
Ethnosports or Traditional sports are a reflection of a culture that comes from the depths of history and are an integral part of the cultural heritage of a community. It is important in terms of developing peoples’ feelings of love, respect and brotherhood in national and international fields and contributing to world peace.
The International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association is a national organization engaged in activities that aim at increasing and spreading awareness of ethnosports and games in Bangladesh. In line with this, First time I established Mas-Wrestling ethnosports in Bangladesh in 2015 by achieving an affiliation certificate from the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, Russia to attend the International Mas-Wrestling Federation Congress-2015, which was held in Moscow, the capital of Russia on 27th November 2015. And later I also established the world’s most popular ethnosports in Bangladesh like Mangala, Togyzqumalaq/Toguz Korgool, Salvar Guresi and Kyrgyz Kurosh which is similar to our ancient sports.
All these Ethnosports have grown dramatically over the past 5years in Bangladesh and on the occasion of ‘Mujibbarsho’ the birth centenary of the greatest Bangalee of all time Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, We successfully organized The ‘Mujib Year’ National Ethnosport Referee Training Course-2020, On 17th November 2020. Mr. Mustafa Osman Turan, H. E. Ambassador of Türkiye to Bangladesh was present as a Chief Guest. The ‘Mujib Year’ Inter-Club Mas-Wreslting Ethnosport Championship 2021, Dhaka, On 3rd September 2021. The ‘Mujib Year’ Cumilla District Ethnosport Championship-2021, Cumilla, on 17th September 2021. The ‘Mujib Year’ Selection Competition for the International Ethnosports Championship-2021, Dhaka, on 9th October 2021. The ‘Mujib Year’ Dhaka Women College Ethnosport Competition-2021, Dhaka, On 23rd November 2021. The ‘Mujib Year’ Alhaz Mockbul Hossain College Ethnosport Competition 2022, Dhaka, On 25th March 2022. “19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day of Türkiye” Ethnosport Competition 2022, at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka, on 19 May 2022. The Dhaka Women College ‘Ethnosport Training Seminar 2023’ Dhaka, on 10th January 2023. And also The Tejgaon College, Dhaka ‘Ethnosport Training Seminar 2023’ Dhaka, on 15th February 2023.
From Bangladesh we have attended various international forums and championships around the world, respectively: The 2nd World Nomad Games 2016 (Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan). The Mas-Wrestling World Cup 2017 (Moscow, Russia). The 1st International Ethnosport Forum 2018 (Antalya, Türkiye). The 3rd World Nomad Games 2018 (Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan). The International Ethno Festival 2019, Nomad Universe, (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). The 2nd International Ethnosport Forum 2019 (Almaty, Kazakhstan). The 2nd Stage Mas-Wrestling World Championship 2019 (Almalyk, Uzbekistan). The Asian Kyrgyz Kurosh Championship 2019 (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan). The Salver Guresi World Championship 2020 (Kahramanmaras, Türkiye). The 3rd International Ethnosport Forum-2020 (Antalya, Türkiye). The 1st Stage Mas-Wrestling World Championship 2021 (Khiva, Uzbekistan). The 5th Ethnosport Forum 2022 (Baku, Azerbaijan) and also The 6th World Togyzqumalaq Championship 2022 (Aktobe city, Kazakhstan) etc.
It is a matter of great pleasure to let you know that we are going to organize the National Ethnosport Championship-2023 at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium, Dhaka, More than 500 contestants will take part in the championship contest from different parts of Bangladesh. We believe that soon we will be able to spread these games to all the districts and academic institutions of our country.
