Dhaka, 18 June 2026: The Dhaka Divisional Boys’ Ethnosport Training Seminar 2026 was successfully held on Thursday at Manarat Dhaka International School & College, Gulshan-2, Dhaka, with the enthusiastic participation of more than 200 students from leading educational institutions across the Dhaka Division.
The seminar was organized by the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association (IEBA) with the objective of promoting ethnosports and traditional games among young people and encouraging cultural awareness, sportsmanship, and the preservation of traditional sporting heritage.
The opening ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mr. Ramis Şen, Ambassador Türkiye to Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of traditional sports in preserving cultural heritage, promoting youth development, and strengthening international friendship through sports diplomacy.
The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Md. Al Mamun, President of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association, who highlighted the role of ethnosports in fostering cultural exchange, youth engagement, and international cooperation.
The programme was attended by distinguished guests, including Ms. Alexandra Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh; Mr. İslam Güre, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Dhaka; Mr. Muhammed Ali Armağan, Coordinator of TİKA Bangladesh; Ms. Sofia Kutepova, Press Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh; Mr. Özgür Özyürek, Religious Services Coordinator of the Embassy of Türkiye in Bangladesh; and Mr. Iqbal Hasan Chowdhury Jewel, Managing Director of JCX Group, and Advisor of the Association; Md Ekramul Kabir, Vice President of the Association and Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; The event was presided over by Brigadier General S. M. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Principal of Manarat Dhaka International School & College.
The seminar introduced participants to a range of ethnosports and games through practical demonstrations and interactive training sessions. Students were provided with the opportunity to learn sporting disciplines that promote mutual respect, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and cultural understanding.
The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to expanding ethnosport activities throughout Bangladesh and encouraging greater youth participation in traditional sports. They emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in preserving cultural heritage, promoting healthy lifestyles, and strengthening international friendship through sport
