The 3rd International Ethnosport Forum was held in Antalya, Turkey, from 22–23 February 2020, with participation from 200 delegates representing 49 countries, including Bangladesh Country Representative Md Al Mamun. The forum was organized by the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) under the presidency of H.E. Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan. Participants engaged in joint discussions on the future of traditional sports and games, with various panels and sessions focusing on the “Revival of Traditional Sports.”
The event was graced by Honorable Youth & Sports Minister of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, the Governor of Antalya, Mr. Münir Karaloğlu, and sports ministers from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Gambia, Somalia, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire. Distinguished guests also included H.R.H. Prince Hussein Bin Al Hussein of Jordan and Major General K. Satibaldiuly of Kazakhstan.
The World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) is dedicated to promoting awareness and popularity of traditional sports worldwide. The 1st International Ethnosport Forum, titled “Reviving Traditional Sports,” was held in Antalya, Turkey, in February 2018, attended by ministers, government officials, federation representatives, and academicians from 56 countries, including Bangladesh. The 2nd International Ethnosport Forum took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in April 2019, with around 200 delegates from 30 countries, jointly organized by the Kazakhstan Ethnosport Association and WEC.
