Dhaka, 12 February 2025:
A wave of enthusiasm swept through Manarat Dhaka International School and College as 400 students actively participated in the highly anticipated “Ethnosport Training Seminar 2025” held on campus today. This remarkable initiative introduced young athletes to the world of ethnosports, including Mas-Wrestling, Togyzqumalaq, and Mangala.
The prestigious event was graced by Brigadier General S. M. Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Principal of Manarat Dhaka International School and College, who attended as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of such training programs in shaping well-rounded individuals and fostering international sporting excellence. Special guest Md. Al Mamun, Founder and President of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association, inspired students with his invaluable insights and vision for ethnosports in Bangladesh where also present as special guests Vice-Principal Tahamina Yasmin. The training was conducted by the college’s trainers Borhan Uddin, Shafiqul Islam, Nazmunnahar and Elina Khatun.
A source of immense pride for the institution, a student from Manarat Dhaka International School and College previously represented Bangladesh in the International Ethnosport Competition (Togyzqumalaq event) held in Kazakhstan in 2023. This achievement highlights the school’s dedication to fostering excellence in sports beyond mainstream disciplines.
The training seminar served as a crucial platform for students to gain hands-on experience in ethnosports, nurturing their competitive spirit and preparing them for future national and international tournaments. By engaging in these culturally rich sports, students are not only honing their strategic and athletic skills but also preserving and promoting ethnosports and games on a global stage.
The International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association continues its mission to expand awareness and participation in ethnosports across the country, ensuring that young athletes receive the necessary guidance and opportunities to shine in international arenas.
