5th World Nomad Games 2024, Astana, Kazakhstan
Exemplifying remarkable skill and unwavering determination, Bangladesh’s Ethnosport delegation left an indelible mark at the 5th World Nomad Games 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Led by Md Al Mamun, Founder & General Secretary of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association, the team proudly participated in this prestigious event from September 8 to 13. With over 2,500 athletes from 89 nations showcasing their prowess, the Games stood as a magnificent celebration of traditional sports and cultural heritage on a global scale.
The grandeur of the opening ceremony was elevated by the esteemed presence of His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, alongside several distinguished world leaders. Among them were His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan; His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan; His Excellency Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan; His Excellency Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia); and His Excellency Aysen Nikolayev, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia, Russia). The ceremony was further graced by His Excellency Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, along with former Mongolian President His Excellency Nambaryn Enkhbayar. Key representatives from renowned international organizations, including UNESCO, the UN World Tourism Organization, the Organization of Turkic States, and the European Union, also lent their presence to this extraordinary occasion.
